Non Ferrous scrap metal processing
Since 2015, Lead Metal Recycling has been processing various types of non ferrous and ferrous scrap metal. We pride ourselves in producing a high quality secondary raw material for both local and international consumers. We have as part of our directors and management, a team that has both the technical expertise and the experience to process most grades of complex and simple non ferrous and ferrous scrap metal, as well as material which requires certified destruction.
Non ferrous trading
At Lead Metal Recycling, we purchase all non ferrous scrap, including copper, brass, bronze, aluminium, stainless steel and other non ferrous scrap which include mixed lead, cable or soft lead, battery plates, scrap batteries, zinc, copper elements, stainless steel elements, aluminum radiators, tungsten amongst other non ferrous scrap.
We also purchase rare metals such as nickel, mercury, catalysts, tin, white metals and solder.
Lead Metal Recycling offers both collected and delivered prices and delivered prices for scrap purchases and we have ability to collect scrap throughout South Africa. All material collected is processed at our Johannesburg head office at 2 Amber road, Elandsfontein.
Ferrrous trading
At Lead Metal Recycling we buy all types of scrap steel and grade it into the various grades suitable for various foundry applications. We purchase ferrous and process it into Blue steel, 201 Steel, general scrap steel, subgrade scrap steel.
Aluminium Cans
Lead Metal Recycling purchases scrap aluminium cans and feeds them back into the smelting industry where they are converted back to raw material for new cans and other aluminium products. We provide service to clients with expired stock in aluminium cans for disposal so the aluminium cans can be extracted and disposed. The liquid component can be disposed off to landfill.
Cable Processing
At Lead Metal Recycling, we will purchase all your scrap electrical cable that needs disposal. We have cable strippers on site and we can, after stripping the cables, pay the client the commodity price. The client is free to collect the waste plastic for disposal or alternatively we dispose the waste plastic on behalf of the client. Any steel and other waste products are separated from the copper or aluminium commodities and these are in turn supplied as raw materials to foundries.

Lead Metal Recycling has competent staff that can come out to the client’s yard to cut the scrap metal to sizes easily loaded into collection bins or trucks. If your staff is busy and you need some steel works to be demolished and cut to size, look no further. We ensure that during the cutting and processing of scrap metal, all health and safety requirements are met and ensure that we assist in improving your house keeping through an efficient scrap metal disposal system.
Metals, minerals and ores
Lead Metal Recycling will also buy various ores and metals either as finished or semi-finished product for the local and export market. The holding company of Lead Metal Recycling is involved in the export of commodities while Lead Metal Recycling handles all the local sales.
