The Transnet strike is still on and a lot of mining companies and exporters from other industries are on a limp not knowing how long the wage negotiations will go on. There is talks going on behind the scenes and the plea of business is that this stalemate be rectified sooner so that losses can be curbed. Its the opportunity cost and the extended cash cycles due to stock not being shipped and the force majeure makes the uncertainty not good for investors and business.

The situation is temporary and after the parties in discussions find each other, the desire of entities in the export business is the reduction of such inconveniences which have a lot of hidden costs that creep in reducing margins and leaving a bad taste in the mouth.
